Rick Stack is the founder and owner of St. Paul School of Music, a vibrant community music school that has been growing and evolving for over 18 years. Originally launched in 2007 as St. Paul Guitar Studio in the artist-rich Lowertown neighborhood, the school began by offering high-quality guitar instruction in styles ranging from rock and blues to classical and jazz.
In 2016, Rick moved the school to West St. Paul to expand its offerings and rebranded as St. Paul School of Music. Today, the school provides lessons in piano, drums, voice, violin, flute, ukulele, bass, and, of course, guitar! With over four decades of teaching experience, Rick has guided thousands of students on their musical journeys, and while he once taught 50 students a week, he now balances a smaller teaching schedule with managing and growing the school.
Rick is deeply passionate about music education and sees his role as a school owner and educator as one of the most fulfilling aspects of his career. He continues to expand and evolve the school, most recently by launching Summer Rock Band Camps to give students a fun and immersive group playing experience.
